It's every vacation rental homeowner's worst nightmare, the double booking.
A double booking can happen when your calendars aren't properly synced among the multiple listing platforms. Be sure to watch the video above to learn the exact steps you can take to avoid a double booking.
The last thing we want to do as vacation rental home owners is ruin our guest's vacation with a double booking. Today, I will review how to properly sync your Airbnb and VRBO calendar, to help avoid a costly mistake like this.
Let's first talk about when you want to sync your calendars yourself. Now, if you are using a channel manager or a property management system, then you would sync your multiple calendars within those platforms.
If you don't have those third party systems, and you are managing your calendars manually, then you'll want to walk through these steps to sync your calendar.
Why Sync Your Calendars?
Calendar syncing allows you to list your property on multiple platforms to avoid any double bookings. It essentially allows the calendars to talk to each other throughout the different listing platforms, and automatically keep those calendars in sync.
How to sync your Airbnb calendar and your VRBO calendar
Each listing platform has a calendar import feature and a calendar export feature. Calendar importing allows you to automatically keep your calendar updated with an external calendar, while calendar exporting allows you to view a calendar on an external calendar.
For a tutorial on how to sync your Airbnb and VRBO calendars, be sure to watch the video above for a tutorial (starts at 02:27).
If you are using multiple listing sites to manage your vacation rental, it is crucial you have taken these extra steps to sync your calendar.
Let me know in the comments below if you have your calendars synced or if you have any questions while getting this set-up!
